1. Controller

Responsible for processing personal data:

Fam4Fam (in formation)
Switzerland

Privacy contact: privacy@fam4fam.ch

2. Principle

Fam4Fam is purely a matching and settlement platform following a marketplace model – not an employer and not a childcare institution. The childcare agreement is concluded exclusively and directly between the families involved.

Protecting family, identity and especially children’s information is very important to us.

We process personal data in accordance with applicable Swiss data protection law and the principles described in this privacy policy.

3. Account data

During registration and use, the following data may in particular be processed:

  • name;
  • email address;
  • phone number;
  • login information;
  • account status;
  • language;
  • profile information;
  • profile picture;
  • settings.

4. Sign-in

Depending on the platform, Fam4Fam supports:

  • email/password;
  • Sign in with Apple;
  • Google Sign-In.

When using an external login provider, the information required for authentication is exchanged between the provider and Fam4Fam.

5. Family profiles

We process information required to present and match a family, for example:

  • family name or profile name;
  • family situation;
  • region of residence;
  • address or location information;
  • languages;
  • availability;
  • childcare preferences;
  • profile description;
  • photos;
  • trust and verification status.

6. Data about children

Parents or other authorised persons can create child profiles.

In particular, name or first name, month/year of birth or age, and childcare-relevant information may be processed.

Please only enter information necessary for organising and safely carrying out childcare.

Children generally do not use Fam4Fam independently as contracting parties.

7. Childcare data

Fam4Fam processes information about:

  • childcare needs;
  • availability;
  • childcare requests;
  • bookings;
  • date and time;
  • families involved;
  • number of children;
  • drop-offs;
  • pick-ups;
  • actual childcare duration;
  • status of a childcare session;
  • CareHours;
  • funded childcare hours.

This information is needed to match and organise childcare between families and to handle its settlement traceably. Fam4Fam does not thereby become a party to the childcare agreement.

8. Handovers

For the secure documentation of a handover, QR codes, PINs, timestamps and confirmations from the families involved may be processed.

This information serves in particular to assign and document a childcare session.

9. Location and map data

Fam4Fam uses map and location features, among others based on Leaflet/OpenStreetMap.

Depending on the feature, approximate or precise location information may be processed.

Location permissions can be managed via the respective device.

Fam4Fam aims to make exact private addresses visible only where necessary for a specific feature.

10. Communication

When using communication features, messages, attachments, images, senders, recipients and timestamps may be processed.

Private communication is not displayed publicly.

Access may occur insofar as technically necessary or required to handle a report, for security or due to legal obligations.

11. Identity verification via Stripe Identity

Fam4Fam may use Stripe Identity for identity verification.

In particular, ID images, selfies or liveness recordings, information read from the document and technical security information may be transmitted to Stripe.

Under the current technical setup, Fam4Fam stores in particular the following for Stripe identity verification:

  • Stripe verification session ID;
  • verification status;
  • where applicable, an error status.

Under the current technical setup, ID images, selfies and ID numbers from the Stripe Identity check are not stored in Fam4Fam’s own database.

The actual document and identity verification is carried out by Stripe.

12. Manual verification documents

Where Fam4Fam additionally offers manual verification, documents submitted voluntarily or as part of the respective procedure may be stored in a private document store.

Access is restricted to authorised persons or responsible Fam4Fam administrators.

These documents are not displayed publicly.

13. Reviews and trust

Fam4Fam may process reviews, connections to trusted families, verification status and other trust attributes.

This information serves in particular to build trust and safety within the Fam4Fam network.

14. CareHours and financial data

Fam4Fam may process data on CareHours and, where applicable, CashHours, SponsorHours or other forms of funding. CareHours represent pure 1:1 exchange time in child-hours and cannot be paid out. CashHours serve for the optional purchase of childcare in case of a time deficit. Childcare allowances as expense allowances between families and the separate service/platform fee for Fam4Fam are recorded separately from CareHours.

This may include:

  • balances;
  • bookings;
  • transaction history;
  • reservations;
  • statements;
  • childcare allowances in CHF for the caregiving family;
  • separately shown service/platform fees for Fam4Fam;
  • payout status.

Amounts mentioned, such as CHF 6.00 childcare allowance plus a CHF 1.50 service/platform fee, CHF 7.50 in total per purchased child-hour, are non-binding indicative examples for the pilot phase (under review). They do not constitute binding rates or payout commitments.

15. Payment data and Stripe

For paid features, Fam4Fam may use Stripe.

In particular, payment, transaction, customer and subscription information may be processed.

Payment card information may be processed directly by Stripe without Fam4Fam receiving full card details.

16. Payouts

Where Fam4Fam enables payouts, the following information may in particular be processed:

  • account holder name;
  • IBAN;
  • amount of the childcare allowance;
  • payout status;
  • date;
  • related family or transaction information.

A payout relates to funded childcare that was agreed, provided and confirmed accordingly, not to the conversion of CareHours. Settlement does not replace clarifying the notification, authorisation, social insurance or tax obligations applicable to families. Details can be found in the Terms.

17. Fam4Fam Plus

When using Fam4Fam Plus, information about the following may be processed:

  • subscription status;
  • product or plan;
  • term;
  • renewal;
  • cancellation;
  • payment provider.

For subscriptions taken out via Apple, the necessary information is additionally exchanged with Apple.

18. Push notifications

Fam4Fam may offer push notifications.

For this, device or push tokens, technical device information and notification settings may in particular be processed.

Users can manage push notifications via the app or device settings.

19. Calendar

Where calendar features are used, childcare information may be transferred into calendar or iCal data.

Further processing by the chosen calendar provider lies outside Fam4Fam’s direct control.

20. Support

When you contact our support, we process in particular:

  • contact details;
  • the content of your request;
  • technical information;
  • where applicable, screenshots or attachments;
  • processing status.

Please do not send unnecessary sensitive information about children in support requests.

21. Usage analytics

Fam4Fam may record usage events to improve the platform.

Under the current technical setup, events such as registration, childcare request, accepted childcare or use of certain features may be recorded, for example.

Depending on usage, such events may be linked to a user account.

Where analytics is optional, the corresponding setting is respected.

On the fam4fam.ch website, we use Google Analytics 4 by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) to understand how the website is used (e.g. pages visited, approximate region, device type, clicks on registration or social media links). Cookies or similar technologies are used for this. IP addresses are truncated; Google signals and ad personalisation are disabled. Data may be transferred to the USA. You can prevent collection by blocking cookies in your browser or using Google’s browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics.

Google Analytics is only loaded if you accept the “Statistics” category in the cookie banner.

Cookie categories: “Necessary” (storing your choice in your browser’s local storage, always active), “Statistics” (Google Analytics, only with consent) and “Marketing” (Meta Pixel, only with consent). Your choice is stored locally with a version and timestamp; we ask again after material changes.

App launch notification: If you leave your email address on the website to be notified when app registration opens, we store it together with the language, the button clicked and the time in our website database (Lovable Cloud). We use it solely for this one notification and delete it afterwards. You can request deletion at any time via privacy@fam4fam.ch.

Meta Pixel: with your consent to the “Marketing” category, we use the Meta Pixel by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Merrie Hanlon Gate, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland) to measure the reach of our ads on Facebook and Instagram. In particular, pages visited, browser and device information, IP address and cookie identifiers are sent to Meta. Meta may link this data to an existing Meta account; we do not send email addresses, family profiles, child or childcare data. Data may be transferred to the USA and other countries; Meta relies, among other things, on the EU-US/Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. We are jointly responsible with Meta for collection and transmission; Meta is responsible for further processing (facebook.com/privacy/policy).

Consent and withdrawal: the legal basis for statistics and marketing is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future via “Cookie settings” in the footer. Cookie retention periods are set by Google or Meta (specific periods according to the providers’ information – under review). For questions and your rights: privacy@fam4fam.ch.

During operation, technical data may be processed, for example:

  • device type;
  • app version;
  • timestamp;
  • security and error information.

This information serves in particular operation, security, error analysis and abuse prevention.

23. Service providers

Fam4Fam uses technical service providers.

  • Supabase or the underlying cloud infrastructure;
  • Lovable or related infrastructure;
  • Stripe and Stripe Identity;
  • Apple;
  • Google;
  • OpenStreetMap or map infrastructure;
  • technical email and push services.

Which providers actually receive data depends on the features used.

24. Transfers abroad

Some service providers may process data outside Switzerland.

Fam4Fam takes the requirements of Swiss data protection law into account for this.

Where personal data is transferred to countries without a recognised adequate level of data protection, the necessary legal safeguards are used unless a statutory exception applies.

25. No sale of data

Fam4Fam does not sell any personal family or child data to advertisers or data brokers.

26. Retention

We generally store personal data only as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as long as statutory or legitimate retention interests exist.

Business and accounting records subject to statutory retention may be stored for correspondingly longer.

Security, transaction or evidence data may be retained after account deletion insofar as necessary and permissible.

27. Account deletion

Fam4Fam provides an account deletion feature.

Account deletion leads to the deletion or anonymisation of data unless there are statutory or legitimate grounds for further retention.

28. Data export

Fam4Fam provides features through which users can export their stored data or obtain information about it.

29. Data security

Fam4Fam uses technical and organisational security measures.

Depending on the data area, these include in particular:

  • TLS-encrypted transmission;
  • authentication;
  • access controls;
  • private storage areas;
  • time-limited signed links;
  • database permissions;
  • logging;
  • separation of different balance and financial data.

No technical system can guarantee absolute security.

30. Rights

Data subjects may, within the scope of applicable law, in particular request information about their personal data and request correction or deletion.

Privacy requests: privacy@fam4fam.ch

We may require appropriate identity verification before disclosing personal information.
